The Minister of Housing and Local Government, YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, officiated the Launch Ceremony of MADANI Credit Award (AKM) 2024 in Hotel Berjaya Times Square on 16/11/2024.

This award, organized for the first time by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), will be held biennially starting in 2024.

A Platform for Recognizing Licensed Pawnbrokers

The MADANI Credit Award aim to acknowledge initiatives, continuous efforts, and high-quality services provided by licensed Pawnbrokers (PPG). The awards focus on:

• Compliance with laws and regulations
• High standards of professionalism
• Financial support for entrepreneurship
• Implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR)

As of April 30, 2024, Malaysia has 881 licensed Pawnbrokers under the Pawnbrokers Act 1972 (Act 81).

A total of 7 categories are being contested in Pawnbrokers categories PPG. Pawnzon have won 4 awards which are:

1. Special Minister's Award for PPG MADANI – Choong Thye Pawnshop Sdn bhd
2. Best Innovation Award – Choong Thye Pawnshop Sdn Bhd
3. Best CSR Award – Choong Thye Pawnshop Sdn Bhd
4. Most Valuable Business Award – Choong Yee Pawnshop Sdn Bhd
